The Sean P. Cunningham Memorial Scholarship Endowment was created by Steve and Denise Cunningham, Sean's parents, to assist students with financial need and who have qualities that Sean displayed.
The first scholarship is awarded each year to a health care professional entering the final year of their training, and must be in one of the following positions: Advanced Practice Nurses, Physician Assistants, Physical Therapists, Pharmacists. In December of each year, the President/CEO, or their designee, will determine which of the aforementioned positions will be included for the next scholarship. In addition, the professional must have a GPA in the top 1/3rd of their program/class, and must provide a written statement that they are interested in employment at Pocono Health System as well as a written essay that describes why people would describe them as a leader and as a caring and determined individual.
The second scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from Notre Dame High School who displays similar characteristics as Sean.
The application period for the scholarships will be from February 1st - March 31st, and will be awarded at the Annual Pocono Health Foundation Grants & Scholarship Reception in June.
